We always talked to clients about the hidden cost of manual processes, but it was hard to make it real without showing the maths.

So we built a calculator – but the first version was too basic. Enter your hours, your cost, and how often you do the task. Here’s what it costs. Accurate, but not compelling.

The problem was it only captured direct time cost. It didn’t account for delays (like proposals going out late in the day and losing momentum), or the fact that someone doing admin work isn’t doing revenue-generating work. The real cost of a manual process is always higher than the hours suggest.

So we rebuilt it as a Revenue Leak Calculator. It factors in time cost, but also revenue at risk from delays and missed opportunities. We added sliders, animated the outputs, included explanations of how each figure is calculated, and made it something people actually want to play with.
